About Patti
I've been teaching piano yearly since 2000, occasionally since the mid-70's. Music is a passion for me! I love hearing my students not only succeed, but excel as a pianist. I also accept special-needs students.
Working with kids is the best! Their brains are like a sponge & they love when they can play their first song with 2 hands! I am so blessed to be able do this!
I began playing piano at age 4, by ear. I took lessons for 11 years myself.

About the lesson

We begin with learning fingering & getting comfortable on the keyboard. We move on to learning note names on the music. Finding the correct keys comes next. We learn about types of notes and counting note values. We go to time signatures and what they mean. We learn the right hand first. Eventually, we learn tempo, dynamics and things like rests and repeats.
