About Tatyana

My students are like a second family to me. I have a very personalized approach to teaching, I am fully invested in my students' results. My Russian educational background influences a disciplined teaching style but I throw in a laid-back, personalized approach to the mix so that a student is making progress but there is limited stress in the learning process.

I enjoy getting to know my students and helping them accomplish their goals; watching them progress from complete beginners to performances in recitals or even as professional recording artists!

I started teaching while I was still a student at the Rimsky-Korsakov music college in Russia, since I was 17 years old.

Most of my music and piano education comes from Russia, from elementary music school through the Rimsky-Korsakov music college and institute of art. I also completed the Yamaha Teaching Course in the States.

About the lesson

I set up goals and address any concerns with the student/parents. Based on any previous experience the student may have and individual abilities we start working towards achieving the goals. Each lesson I have a plan and I give homework so there is weekly/monthly/yearly progress which is very rewarding and enjoyable for me and the student.

I have all types of students. I have very young children, 2 1/2 year old’s and my oldest student is over 90 years old. I teach students with a vast range of previous musical experiences and abilities from complete beginners to professional recording artists.

Perfect! As an adult beginning piano student, I was looking for an instructor with a lot of experience teaching adults, who could build my lessons around both technical skills and music theory.

I've now been working with Tatyana for a year and I feel lucky to have found her. She's a great instructor - exactly what I was looking for. She's a great listener and structures our work so I am making progress while keeping my big goals in mind. Her style is warm and professional.

Oh, and this has all been 100% remote due to the pandemic.

Daniel

Tatyana is extremly talented, friendly and at ease. More importantly she is very patient and precise. From the first lesson she stressed value (note duration) and dynamics (volume, speed, etc). These are the basic instructions of any musical piece. Know these, follow them through practice and with Tatyana's help you will think you can play anything.

She’s very friendly and gets along with all ages and cultures of people. She’s understanding and kind and her music lessons have taught me much. It’s a fun easy-going experience but also one learns a lot.
