About Carmen

I'm qualified to teach your child. My goal is to help them be successful in creating music so they can share their talents for the rest of their lives.

Every student is unique in what they want to play and how they approach music. It's fun to figure out how best to help and challenge them.

I started teaching as I was working on a bachelors degree in Piano Performance at BYU.

I am a third-year doctoral student at the University of Utah in Piano Performance. My son is working on a bachelors degree at Utah Valley University and could teach you also.

About the lesson

I visit with the student and parent, hear them play and assess their needs and goals. Then we can decide if the studio is a good fit.

I have worked with all ages- very young to adult.

Ask lots of questions and be sure to visit with a potential teacher in person.

Students who work together at the piano in ensembles seem to really enjoy lessons. My students perform in duets, trios, and quartets. The sound is big and they motivate each other to work hard.
