About Marina
I approach each class differently depending on the skill level of the student. If a student is new to art, then I start off with the basic fundamentals of drawing. After they gain confidence in their basic skills, I then introduce color and paint. With time, we will start working on projects where the students can freely explore techniques to create a unique art piece. For more experienced artists, my method would be more critique based to help guide you through your personalized art journey.
I can work from home, have flexible schedule, and do what I love. Teaching others is very rewarding for me. I love seeing my students grow discovering their potential. I also learn a lot from my students.
I started serious art studies when I was 10 years old in my home country. When I moved to the USA I took a fine art education at Mercer County college at first and later I transferred to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC. In 2005 I graduated and worked in fashion industry for almost 4 years. I work with many different media and materials from drawing to making complicated cosplay costumes. I paint with acrylics, watercolors most of the time, but also with oils. Lately I started painting portraits of pets for my customers with acrylics and watercolors. In the past, I drew illustrations using art markers and colored pencils a lot. I taught art classes with kids between the age of 5-12 in a private school for about 3 years and continue teaching kids and adults online as a group and private lessons. My main work is painting my collection and commissions.

I start by understanding what skills the student has, then determine best approach to start the instruction. For first time artists I would love to give a basic overview of the fundamentals of art and the very basics of whatever medium my student is interested in.

My daughter has been taking weekly online art classes with Ms Marina since April 2020. Marina is a talented artist and always motivates my daughter to try new things and push herself. She manages to overcome the challenges of teaching art virtually by making sure to follow my daughter’s interests and not letting her get distracted. Marina is very patient and always acts in a kind and friendly manner.
My daughter especially enjoys learning to create art digitally using an iPencil. Marina has created a great program for her to follow that is tailored to my daughter’s interests. My daughter always looks forward to her lessons with Ms Marina.See more recommendations
