About Carolyn

I am new to teaching but it is somthing I have always wanted to do. I have been painting for 15 years and In my practice I believe that strong technical skill should be the cornerstone for experimentation. Initially trained in oils I have branched into acrylic and gouache. With students I am willing to meet you where you are in terms of skill level, wether you are just starting out or have taken classes before. My goal as a teacher is to reduce the anxiety around art making by shifting the way a painting is approached, improve foundational skills by giving you the tools to better mix and identify color, and grow your understanding of tone and color harmony.

If you are interested in Online lessons students will recieve a targeted assignment at beginning of your week and a thirty minute private Skype/video chat critique at the end of your week.
