About Michele
Over 20 years teaching experience as a former high school teacher and instructing at paint n sip studios to first time painters. Acrylic painting is one of the most versatile mediums to learn with for first timers. I enjoy painting and ANYONE can learn to paint! I’ll help you find your niche. Everything around you is a potential composition for a painting. I’ll show you how
I enjoy watching a person tell me they can’t paint and then a few hours later they say they CAN! It’s that ah-ha moment that is so gratifying. Painting can be learned. Just like anything in life, it takes practice. If you enjoy it, it’s not work.
I went to college and realize how effortless it was to paint in my studio classes. At the time I was a single mother and teaching was a perfect profession to be in while raising my daughter. It just flowed so well. I love teaching art!
I’ve been painting since I was a child so it was natural to go into this profession. I earned my BFA in Studio Arts, with my concentration in painting and a minor in Education K-12, from Sam Houston State University.

Initially I like to explain what supplies you need to get started and how to purchase supplies that are cost effective. Going into an art store can be confusing and exoensive if you’re not familiar with painting. You will immediately learn basic techniques while creating a painting. It’s best to work one on one with no distractions around, (ideally in your environment), so the student benefits the most with the lesson and their time.
I have taught all ages. Everyone has that inner child that loves to create and play with paint!
It’s a truly gratifying feeling of accomplishment when you start a painting and finish it! When you see that you can do it, let me warn you, it is addictive. Painting is a wonderful outlet and stress reliever. You can paint your own world!
Art Basel Miami 2018 fir the first time with my daughter. It was amazing!!!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about your environment or the space you will paint in. It’s important that it’s comfortable and distraction free as much as possible during the lessons.

I highly recommend doing the online class! Worth every penny!
I have zero experience with painting and I thought I was wasting my time doing this but it was a great experience. The boredom of quarantine got to me and I decided to try Pop up Picasso’s virtual class. I couldn’t beat the price. I actually did a pretty decent job thanks to the teacher. Looking forward to my next class!
My 8 year old daughter loved her experience with Pop-Up Picasso! The teacher, Michele, was very personable and patient making the experience successful and fun. This was super affordable and we can’t wait to for the next lesson!
