About Carrie

I'm an independent visual Artist creating abstractions in acrylic on canvas. I have over 30 years experience as a professional artist.

I'm most interested in helping people find their unique visual voice through color, technique and style. We'll start wherever you are from never having painted to well-established.

Let's get together and talk about what you want to achieve and create a plan together.

I've been facilitating groups and individual participants for 30+ years. I once heard the addage You Teach What You Need To Learn. And that seems about right. I work with each participant individually to direct their progress toward their goals.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Art with empasis on Designe and Painting.
I have a Master of Arts in Art Therapy.
And I have 30+ years of practice in which my style, palette and capability has changed dramatically.
I'm interested in helping you take a journey of discovery with your interest in art and painting.

About the lesson

1st We meet for a free get to know you session to talk about your goals and interests and look at your portfolio if you have one. At this time we'll talk about how we will work together.

2nd Set dates and payment for lessons.

3rd Get down to business and make some art!

4th Decide if you want to continue and repeat 1, 2 and 3.

I'd love to help you get started and/or reach your goals.

I generally work with adults of all ages. I can take participants ages 12 and up.

Meet the Artist first and talk with them. Be sure to bring up your interestes, experience and what you hope to get out of working with them.
When you decide to work with someone please be conscientious of their time and keep scheduled sessions.
Development in art-making is a process. Even if you feel discouraged keep at it and ask for help rather than giving up.
Heck it's taken me 30 years to get where I am. And I'm still growing and learning.

I've been part of arts districts for 10 years and really enjoy Arts Walks. It always fun to talk with people about art making and the process involved.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be honest with yourself about where you are as an Artist now and what you think you'd like to get out of sessions.
Be sure you can commit to the sessions and any homework you're given. If you can only paint during sessions be sure to talk about that.
