About the lesson

It is most important to me that I adapt a lesson to a student. Some students want to learn landscape while others want still life. Rarely do I have requests for portraiture.I usually ask students to bring 3-6 images that they think they would like to paint. In this way, I can determine interests. We then discuss composition , color...etc.

Different students have different comfort levels. Some want me hovering over every brush stroke while others want me near at hand but feel nervous if I am too present.

I prefer working in five week stints. Students then usually need a break before resuming. I welcome students to text me pictures of their works in progress between sessions. This way, if they are stumped, they need not wait a full week before getting advice.
