About Sydney
Hi, I'm Syd! I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and minor in English from Bernard M. Baruch College (City University of New York). As well as, a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from Hunter College (City University of New York). Currently, I am enrolled in the M.S. in Data Science at Pace University - NYC. Throughout my academic career starting in high school, I've almost always found myself helping other students in the classes I excelled at, and appreciated those I could turn to in the classes I needed assistance with. These experiences pushed me to become a private tutor outside of internships and other PT/FT jobs. I love being able to clarify topics and ensure my student's had a greater depth of understanding. I base my tutoring on the current standing of a student, the syllabi/curricula of their courses, and their goals. Ergo, no strategy is ever the same.
I have four years of varied tutoring experience from 9th Grade to Graduate, working directly with each student. The frequency of tutoring sessions are determined weekly by availability and urgency (e.g., midterms and finals). Most students opted for 2x/week during the summer months, and 3x/week during the academic year. I have tutored in Biology, Neuroscience, Psychology, English, Literature, and more.
My objective is to do all that I can to aid in the success of the students I work with. I am open to suggestions, learning resources, and proven study tips from students or parents.
