About Rachel
Hello! My name is Rachel and I am super excited to start working with you! I recently graduated from Case Western Reserve University, and plan to go to medical school in the next few months. In the mean time, I am tutoring in science subjects. I love everything to do with science, and am well qualified to tutor all levels from middle school to introductory college courses in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. In general, I like to study by understanding and applying concepts rather than rote memorization. I will help you take what may seem like a very concrete and boring subject and bring it to life so that you remember and apply information well. I have three years of tutoring and teaching experience from working as a teaching assistant for CWRU's Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology course, where I helped grade papers, host office hours, and run study sessions throughout the week. I used mneumonic devices, case studies and occasionally yoga classess to help students learn the parts of the body and how they work! I specialize in creative worksheets, and have even taken a class in the facilitation of understanding. Outside of acadmeics, I am an avid long distance runner and yoga instructor who loves apples and chocolate. If you are looking for someone positive and energectic, with lots of knowledge to share, I am your person!!!
