About Megan
I believe in free, healthy singing that will allow for a long and successful career. I teach the methods of Betty Jeanne Chipman who advocated for healthy vocal production. As a graduate from the University of Utah's music program I received a wonderful music education and feel prepared to help those interested in learning how to use their voice for enjoyment and expression.
I love helping people learn how to sing! I love helping them free their voice and use their talents to serve others!
I have a degree in Musical Theatre from Western Wyoming Community College and a Bachelors in Music from the University of Utah. As a student at the U of U, I had the opportunity to sing with the Utah Symphony for such works as Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky Cantata, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The last three years I have performed with Ballet West for their performances of The Nutcracker. Currently, I am in an A Cappella band called Inversion A Cappella.

I meet with students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) for a meeting before lessons so we can discuss previous musical experience, expectations, etc. This meeting is important so that I know if I am the right fit for each student. At this meeting I also like to have the student sing a little piece; this is not an audition. The performance of this piece is simply so I can get used to their voice and know where they are so I know how to help them. With beginners I start with the basics; one cannot master any skill without a thorough knowledge of the basics.
I have taught a few students who each had very different voices and challenges. My first student was an older woman with a damaged voice from years of teaching school, my second student was an adolescent male trying to deal with his changing voice, and my third student was a pregnant woman having a hard time singing because of the challenges of pregnancy.

Pricing is as follows: 30 minute lessons are $20, 45 minute lessons are $25, and hour lessons are $30.
