About Bruce
Hello, my name is Bruce Kenton, and I believe that everyone can truly make their natural instruments shine. With my assistance, my students will learn how to have freer musicality, develop richer vocal timbres, get responsible posture advice, strengthen their consonants and diction, learn IPA, and do it all while having fun! I believe in addressing points head-on, while also showing my students that they hold the answers to their obstacles. Music is such a beautiful gift, and every pupil deserves to feel at home while making it. I have been singing classically since the fifth grade, and I have learned so many artistic and personal gems to waiting to share with my students. While pursuing my undergrad degree, I have been on the chancellor's and dean's list, received scholarships every semester from the music department at UNCP, traveled to Mexico City for an International Music Festival, sung at the ACDA National Conference, partaken in the Montecito International Music Festival, where I took on the lead role, Tevye, in Fiddler on the Roof, and have placed 3rd in the NATS competition. Soon I will be embarking on my newest journey, which will be tackling my master's degree at the University of South Carolina at Columbia. And I can not wait to learn more! Any student of mine can expect to learn just as much knowledge as I will learn through teaching. I also give theory lessons and teach commercial singing, such as pop, R&B, and alternative. What I enjoy the most about the work I do consists of getting to learn new singers, seeing their stage presence, work ethic, and musicality develop and thrive. Surpassing the goals of my students is also one of my favorite parts of giving lessons. Every student is highly capable of meeting their goals. It just takes the right teacher to plant the fundamental seeds in their students to keep them working and wanting to grow.
