About Mel
I teach music lessons and assist with students taking advanced music classes such as history or basic theory.
I have taught high school, middle school, and elementary school for 25+ years teaching high school band and choir and middle school and elementary general music and choir.
I am certified grades K to 12th grade in Choral, General, Vocal, and Orchestral Music.
I have a Bachelors of Music Education in Instrumental and Vocal Music and a Masters of Church Music specializing in Music Education.
My choruses and band have received Superior ratings at District level Band and Choral Assessments with Excellent ratings at State level Assessments.
I have lived and taught in Louisiana my entire life and career.
I am willing to teach brass lessons and voice (on a limited basis) to students who have had at least six (6) months of training.
Assisting with Applied Music testing or Praxis are my true desire.
I have been involved in music 54 years.

About the lesson

Languages in which the lesson is available :
English
Student must have at least six months of experience on a brass instrument for me to work with them.
Student must be willing to practice a minimum of thirty minutes a day five times a week. More time will be expected of more advanced musicians.
Testing or students working with music history and beginning theory will be expected to complete all assignments on time and spend a minimum of thirty minutes a day working on listening assignments.
