About Lizzi

I am a Drafting and CAD student at Tennessee College of Applied Technology, and I have been studying and have had hands on application with CAD software for the past 8 months. I love the versatility of drafting, and enjoy the challenge of design all together. While I am a relatively advanced student, I am still learning. Therefore, I can provide first hand knowledge for students beginning in a CAD class, or who is learning AutoCAD all together. I am also a memeber of the National Technical Honor's Society.

I enjoy the never ending opportunities Drafting, and AutoCAD specifically, offer. Whether you are interested in designing homes, or the furnature which goes inside of them, AutoCAD is a useful tool to have at your desposal and is imparative to many different fields pertaining to design.

I began teaching other students in my class, and helping them when they had trouble understanding the software. I've also frequently aided some of my peers in the past during grade school and high school, and once aided a student from a failing grade to a B grade.

I am currently a student in the Tennessee College of Applied Technology's Drafting and CAD course. I'm very close to achieving the Detail Drafter Certification.

About the lesson

The process begins by assessing the total knowledge the student has on CAD, how they prefer to draw, and what the best way they learn is. Afterwards, I start developing a strategy on what is the best way to teach them to succeed and surpass their own personal expectations of themselves.

I've worked with several types of learners, from auditory, to hands on, and combinations of the different styles of learning.

I would advise someone who is looking for a CAD instructor to look at their history. Ask them questions such as:

"How long have you been teaching?"

"What diplomas or degrees do you have?"

"What areas of Drafting are you most interested in?"

"What areas of Drafting are you more well versed in?"

(These two questions could very well have different answers, as I myself am more interested in the architectural aspect of drafting, however I am more versed in simply CAD)

These answers will also answer the question:

"Are you going to teach me the practical application of CAD in the area I'm most interested in learning about and developing a career in?"

This information is vital to having a fulfilling career as well as a student-teacher relationship, not to mention that it makes learning the practical application of the trade more enjoyable, and is more personally relatable.
