About Nicolas
Adults and children alike can always benefit from the discipline and lifestyle martial arts develops. We incorporate traditional martial arts and techniques along with new school techniques to provide you with a well rounded balanced form of self growth and self defense. All egos are left outside, we believe in maintaining a respectful family friendly environment for all to learn. We will try to push you to exceed your goals and limits and build personal relationships with all of our students.
I truly enjoy just helping people. Seeing someone struggle when the first start to then seeing it become easy and second nature to them is the most rewarding achievement for me. Seeing someone's self confidence and physique transform is priceless.
I started teaching martial arts at 13. My instructor had me teach young kids first and by 16-17 I would train adult beginners.
I have a 3rd degree Black Belt in Goju Ryu a 3rd degree black belt in kenpo, a black belt in Tae kwon do, and extensive training in various other martial arts from Brazilian Jiu jitsu, to kickboxing and wrestling.

I give them a free introductory class most often a one on one session, to determine their ability and skill set and limits. I ask if there are any injuries or limitations that we must work around or work through.
I have worked with children as young as 3 all the way to adults age 65. I work with kids with special needs but all depending on the level of their needs.
I say feel free to ask lots of questions! There is never a bad or silly question. A good teacher will embrace questions. Every technique every practice has a purpose. If you have a teacher who is unwilling to explain the application or reason behind a movement it is because they themselves do not know or they don't know how to put it into words.
I am very fond of being able to change lives through martial arts the same way it has changed my life.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
For martial arts/ MMA / Karate ask what balance does your school have in the form of offering the des up line and tradition of traditional martial arts, and street like self defense and fighting. All three are different yet essentially for healthy training. Training in just traditional martial arts only will not give you the ability to truly defend yourself, while only training self defense doesn't teach or train the reflexes needed to put self defense in a stressed situation when it arises. And training in only fighting doesn't prepare you for the real world/ street fight 100%. Most schools and disciplined fights are done with rules for competition but in a street defense scenario rules are thrown out the window. Therefore it is essential to ask how they provide that balance of the three.
