Kempo consists of many arts, including Karate, Jujutsu, Aikijujutsu, Nimpo, Weapons, and Tai Chi Chuan, among others. Kempo adapts to you, no matter your age, body type or physical ability. Senior Citizens, ladies, and kids 6-18 years old are especially encouraged, as you are the three groups most preyed upon by the common thug, rapist or killer.
Classes are a taught in 2-hour sessions, with a warm-up at the beginning, followed by personalized,
traditional training.
The focus of this training is exclusively for self defense. I do not teach any of the modern-day watered-down sport derivatives of the traditional training which was developed over centuries for protection, war, and health. If ring-fighting, competition and trophies are your aim, I'm not your guy.
The training is done family-style, which means it's not militaristic and the teacher works out with you. It's a relaxed atmosphere and Kempo ultimately adapts to you. With that being said, I've had students with many physical issues over the years who thought they would not be able to train as a result. These have included missing limbs, osteoarthritis, hypertension, heart problems, cancer, the list goes on and on.
Began teaching out of need, back in the mid-80s.
