About Joshua
High quality personal instruction for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing. I have been training in BJJ since 2006 and hold a brown belt. I also have been boxing and kickboxing since 2008. Additionally, I have worked as a personal trainer since 2004.
Over the years I have picked up a lot of knowledge on how to effectively train clients in a one on one or small group setting. I keep meticulous records and make sure you are getting the accountability, structure, knowledge, motivation, and enjoyment you need to be successful.
I started with personal training. As my interests in BJJ and Kickboxing took the front seat I transitioned to that. I ended up running a BJJ/kickboxing gym in Chapel Hill for about 5 years and got a ton of experience there.
I received my purple belt from Royce Gracie and my Brown belt from Mazaher Heydary. I was certified through ACE as a personal trainer but that certification is no longer current.

We start with a consultation to determine where your current skill level is, where you would like it to be, and see how I can help get you there. Once we figure out a good plan we will meet 1-3 times per week working towards your goals.
I've worked with people between the ages of 3 and 75. I can work with anyone as long as they are willing to put in the effort.
