About Max

I started studying for the LSAT, with no prior knowledge of the test, in October 2019. I took a diagnostic and got a 158.

In February 2020, I took the LSAT for the first time and got a perfect score: a 180.

But the important part is what happened in between. I achieved my score 100% through self-study, and I want to help you recreate the same process I used to improve my score. It's not one-size-fits-all; I offer one-on-one, personalized attention to boost YOUR weaknesses, cater to YOUR learning style, and plug the gaps in YOUR understanding of the test.

There is no secret to breaking 170 on the LSAT. This test is designed to be learnable. 90% of getting there is hard work, persistence, and repetition. The other 10% is what I can help you with; I can't make you study harder, but I make you study smarter. I can't make you walk the path, but I can point you in the right direction.

Apart from the joy of helping others learn, I enjoy the LSAT itself! It's really quite satisfying to hone the logical skills that the test forces you to use. Learning to take intellectual pleasure in the test in and of itself helped me maximize my score, and it's driven me to help others do the same.

I found that I really enjoyed studying for the LSAT. As an intellectual challenge and as a sort of puzzle, the test poses many interesting problems. For me, the whole process was self-study. So when I actually took the test and found out I had gotten a perfect score, I felt compelled to try to pass on what I had learned to others.

I graduated from Cornell University in 2017 with a degree in English, magna cum laude, and did an internship with U.S. News & World Report. Now, I'm working as a tutor and book editor until I attend grad school.

About the lesson

First, we set up an initial consultation for free over Skype, WhatsApp, or whatever you prefer to figure out exactly what point you're at in the process and how I can best help you. Then we create a study schedule that works for both of us. If you're at the beginning of your LSAT journey, I'll walk you through every step from your diagnostic to test day. If you've got, say, Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning down and you just need help with Logic Games, we'll focus on the games. Every student is different, and progress on the LSAT is not linear. Instead, you jump from plateau to plateau. The goal is to point you in the right direction so you can make that jump yourself.
