About April

I am a gradute of Florida A&M College of Law with a Juris Doctor and a gradute of University of Houston with an LL.M in Taxation. I have a Bachelors Degree in business and a Master of Arts. I see the law as neccesary for all, some basis knowledge of the law and how it applies to the individual is important. It is my goal that I take what I've learned and teach others the same.

While in law school, I was a member of the Florida A&M University Law Review, where I edited numerous articles in preparation for our journal publication and was required to write my own scholarly writing specifically for law review course credit. As a member of the Florida A&M University Law Review, I tutored first year and second year law students in first year law courses, where a number of my students performed well enough to become members of Law Review. During my tenure in law school, I gained extensive knowledge of the law and I was able to fine tune my research, writing and editing skills.

In addition, I wrote four other scholarly articles in law school, of which, one has been published in the Southern Journal of Policy and Justice, another to be published this Spring in the Florida A&M Law Review Journal, and another was the runner-up of the Tallahassee Barrister’s writing competition. Through these writings, I further enhanced my legal research, editing, grammar and formatting skills, which enabled me to present the best written documents for grading and publication. Also, I received special acknowledgments in the book Climate Justice: Case Studies in Global and Regional Governance Challenger for my editorial assistance in preparation for publication. I was also selected as an extern for the Florida Supreme Court under Justice Barbara Pariente, where I was required to write legal memorandums, edit opinions to be released by the court and perform legal research.

Prior to entering law school, I worked in Real Estate Sales. I am currently a licensed Florida Real Estate Agent and I have worked for the past four years in the Tallahassee and Orlando, where I successfully negotiated residential real estate sales transactions and referrals.

With my professional and educational background, I am sure that I am the perfect person to tutor you in my areas of knowledge.

I started teaching as a substitute teach, but after attending law school, I have tutoring studnets in law subjects and I have mentored many more.

About the lesson

I like to get a feel for what the student knows about he subject matter and what they struggle with about the subject matter. Then, I would like to know what the student is working on in school so that we can map out a place of attack for the subject area.

Mostly Law students

Many law tutors know the law, but not many are able to teach the law. Make sure your tutor can teach you the law, objectively, the teacher has to know that the law is subjective.
