About Troy

I have been studying Latin for nearly nine years and have a degree in Classical Language & Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I just completed my Master’s degree program in Education at George Mason University. While working towards my degree, I have acquired a wide range of teaching experience—from long-term subbing to teaching Latin at FCPS (which I did for two years). I am more familiar teaching in the Grammar and Translation method or the Reading method but I also have a great interest in teaching with the Natural Method. In addition to traditional classroom experience, I also have taught online with VIP Kid. This broad array of experiences has provided me with a skill set involving a variety of teaching methods and a keen ability to adapt to a number of different students and their individual learning styles.

I have loved studying the history, mythology, and language of the Classical world for about a decade now. By extension, I love sharing this passion with my students and helping them develop their language skills and acquire a passion for the topic themselves.
