About Wren
I've been training horses in Hunter/Jumpers, Three Day Eventing, Saddle Seat, English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Western Gymkhana, and Racing since I was 14. I Grew up riding and caring for horses so I have a deep knowledge of their healthcare and dietary needs. I break young horses using the Clinton Anderson Method to create gentle, well focused, calm horses who are willing and happy to listen. I specialized in the rehabilitation of OTTB for 6 years and still regularly work with Thoroughbreds. I have been teaching since 2016 and have had riders from ages 5 to 70 of every experience level. My main concern is always saftey and I pride myself on not just teaching someone how to ride a horse, but how to understand what is going on underneath them with every step. I want all my students to understand how horses think and how that changes their behavior.
I lived in an area in Florida where trainers were hard to come by. People wanted to learn and I had the knowledge so I started teaching a few children a week. Soon my clientele grew and I started buying horses for a lesson program. I enlisted into the Marine Corps in Jan 2019 but was injured and discharged in September so I moved to Nebraska and started teaching again.
I have trained with multiple trainers around the country and have been training since 2012. I have been teaching since 2016 and specialized in the rehabilitation and retraining of OTTBs. I regularly train horses for some feedlots.

Before working with any student or horse I provided a free consultation to sit down and discuss what it is my client wants from working with me. If they have their own horse I ask to see them ride or if not, I put them on one of my lesson horses so I can get a sense of what their abilities are. Once I have a good idea of what I'm working with I require private lessons until the student is capable enough to safely ride in a group. Once they are at this point they are able to join group lessons is they would like or they are able to keep going with private training.
I've worked with students ranging from ages 5 to 70. Experience levels from having never seen a horse in real life to having shown Grand Prix level Eventing.
Look for someone who can communicate well with you. Telling someone how to do a task vs teaching them how to do it are two different things. Also, make sure to pick a trainer who challenges you to always better yourself.

Each lesson runs between 1 and 2 hours.
Private lessons are $50
Groups of 2 are $40 per person
Groups of 3+ are $30 per person
No mileage is charged for travel under 15 miles
16+ miles traveled milage is charged.
75¢ per mile for trips 16 miles and up.
