About Rebecca
I love it when I can help a student not give up. When that problem they've been struggling with finally clicks into place, it's the best feeling. I'm here to be a friendly face or extra pair of ears or eyes, never to judge, only to help. I'm most used to teaching students that have been counted out--I started my career as a Social Worker at United Cerebral Palsy, and in 2018, I began instructing in Health and Human Services at Ultimate Medical Academy. I love getting to know new people, and learning along with my students. I believe one should never stop growing.
In reality, I started developing lessons as a group facilitator during my Masters level internship as a Social Worker.
I earned a Masters degree in Social Work in 2007, and I was an Instuctor in about 24 different subject areas, mostly in the social sciences, but also English and Communication, at Ultimate Medical Academy from 2017-2019. I also have a Health and Wellness Coaching Certification from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, so any way you look at it, I'm quite used to advising and giving instructions. :)

I typically start by finding out what a student has already done. That way, I know what they know and can bridge the gap between what they know and their problem area. Often times, it's not as bad as a student thinks it is. Usually, they just have to know how to access the right resources to find the information they need.
I've worked with both children and adults, and I'm used to working with people who struggle with standardized lessons. I have strategies to work around that.
Find a teacher who is willing to work with your learning needs.
I'm fond of people coming together to support each other to gain their civil rights.
