About Konnor
I am currently a rising senior at UNC Charlotte, with a major in history, and a minor in secondary education. I am going into my year-long internship, where I'll become a certified teacher in May 2027. I'll make sure to do an excellent job for students by making them engage with the material. Students do not learn if I tell them facts for multiple hours. Students learn better when the material has a real-world purpose to them. Historians learn about historical events by engaging with their teammates, not listening to someone talk for hours. It's important for a teacher/tutor to listen to their students, and sometimes allow for students to lead the conversation and lesson. This doesn't mean I don't have any role. There'll be times when I'm presenting information in an analytical method, but it won't be for the entire session. My goal is for students to have a proficiency in social studies, and also for students to be excited about learning social studies.
