Perfect! I highly recommend James! I searched for instructors for a while (some too creepy, some too stiff), and I'm so glad I got connected with James. He's the best, I just know it. He's safe, respectful, fun, communicates quickly, and is very intelligent about the guitar. I had never played acoustic guitar or learned how to read music before, and wanted an instructor who would introduce me to the instrument, teach me basics, show how to play like my favorite artists, and above all, make it enjoyable. I was able to take about 5 hours of in-studio lessons (masked and distanced) with James and in less a month, I learned basic posture, basic vocabulary, how to tune, sight reading, multiple formats for reading music, what to google to find song notes for free, how to play chords, how to strum, to duet, and how to play some songs both in the traditional music books and from popular music. He's so great at teaching because he's very knowledgeable, adjustable, and he makes it fun without wasting time. Plus he personalizes the lessons! He asked for a list of the kind of music I like and before I even realized it, I was playing chords of my favorite songs... nothing really feels cooler than that. I am now hearing the guitar in songs because of the lessons! I have to move out of Denver but will continue to take virtual lessons with James.

Perfect! He didn't try to impress me with his skills and abilities, but he focused on what I was capable of, and what I want to accomplish, and is structuring a set of lessons around that. Very patient. After just few minutes watching my poor techniques, he made suggestions that corrected those and explained why. It just made sense.
