About JAY
Seeing each student light up when they learn songs they like and now can play! Every lesson comes with a custom transcription of a favorite song of yours!
Every tune is a music lesson, and I can show you how to play on guitar what you hear as well as reading the music.
I have taught privately for longer than I can remmember, and was the Guitar Instructor at the "Gann Music" store in Northfield IL.
I have studied with some of the great masters of our time: "Juan Mercadal", "Fareed Haque", "Joe Diorio". I have attended Berklee in Boston, Univesity of Miami School of Music, and am a graduate of the Chicago Academy of the Arts in Chicago. ("fame school")

I will provide a comprehensive "Book" that the student can keep and use a referrence manual for years to come. I will ask the student to name "3" songs that they would love to play if they could. I will then transcribe the three songs, and every lesson I will teach one of the songs to the student. So I combine Theory, Songs, and "Street Smarts" all in every lesson. As I like to say "Every Song Is Its Own Lesson". Eventually, the goal is to get the student to the level where he/she can play anything they hear, and teach themselves music.
All types, and styles, and levels.
The Internet provides an enormous amount of information, its easy!
I LOVE playing for the ladies guild at the Brandon Catholic Church. They Love my Brazilian Style Music.
