About Jacob
Music teacher originally based out of Moline, IL.
* Son of Grammy winning country musician Jim Seales of Shenandoah
* Youngest successful music teacher in the Quad Cities, IA & IL area
* Former full-time professional gigging musician
* All styles from rock, country, blues, beginner jazz, etc
* Specializes in solo improvisation and ear training
* Learn theory as a language rather than as an academic lesson

There is no better job than being a teacher and guiding young & older people alike to whatever goal(s) they choose as musicians.
My father is a music teacher and has been for the past 20 years. I sat with him while he would teach and in my beginning moments as a musician, I took a few lessons from him. I also had the idea of becoming a music teacher after being with my bass teacher, the legendary session musician Bob Wray, and adapted many of my techniques in the beginning from the instruction of both my father and Bob.
I have been a professional musician for over 12 years and have gigged all over the U.S with the legendary country band Shenandoah. I was a music teacher in the Quad Cities, IL & IA for seven years and am constantly playing, constantly learning.

We always start with whether the student has any kind of musical experience and from there, we determine what level of musical theory we will need down the road. The very first lesson for a beginner is always going to the fretboard to get our hands comfortable with where to go and making a few basic open chords.
I work with students in the age range of 10 years old and up. I have had students in every decade of age from 10 years old, all the way up to 72 years old. There is no age that keeps you from starting to learn!
