About Eric
I am a self-taught multi-musicain with over ten years experience playing guitar both acoustic and electric, bass, and drums. My goal is to get you playing quickly so that you will have access to the lifelong gratification of making music. This is very important because its easy to lose intrest in learning an instrument when you do not have the satisfaction of being able to play and enjoy doing so. I will not spend much time on learning to read music traditionally because this will not assist you in physically playing your instrument. My teaching is based on building a solid foundation and understanding of your instrument followed by learning crucial patterns to use in your music making. I will demonstrate the application of everything taught ensuring that the student will not be left with any question or useless information. I can teach well up to an intermediate level if you are already familiar with your instrument and are simply looking to expand upon what you know. If your looking for lessons I can assure that I will be able to expand your musical knowledge in some way shape or form. I cater to most popular styles rock(in many forms), blues, funk, and multi genre progressive styles.
I love to teach and im very laid back and patient. I have dedicated my life to music. I have been said by many to have a natural ability to play music. I love teaching children because they are the future of music not to mention music is best taken on early in life. Music is so much more than the sounds and emotions you hear and feel. Music is a way of life and contains all aspects of knowledge from math,science,nature, to spirituality. Learning to become a wise musician is no diffrent than learning to become a wise human being.
I began teaching mostly fellow musicians and friends who wanted to learn. I am constantly learning and I enjoy teaching because it provides me with positive re-enforcement and increased understanding of music.
I have played music for many years and have been involved in many performing band such as: The Pleasure Center, The Red Knot Chili Peppers, Sons and Moons, Bkwds-Fwds, Tribal Energy, Echoes in the Soul....

First I gauge the students musical ability and simply ask them what their musical goals are. Then based on the information gathered I begin to put together a specialized curriculum to move the student toward the goals they have.
I have taught mostly beginners looking to expand upon what they know. I have taught a few children as well. I enjoy teaching kids as they are a such a great source of creativity and imagination.
I would advise being prepared to set aside the time and resources needed to excell in music. Have an open mind and don't give up ask questions get inspired. Music is like a child that must be nourished, loved, and understood to be able to grow within you to full potential.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why do you want to play music? Do want to play songs youv'e heard? Do you want to make your own unique music? Is this a hobby of yours that you do for the pure enjoyment of it? Do you want to perform or maybe even make a job out of music? This may the most important question of all. Understanding this will help to create a clear path to whatever musical goal your trying to achieve.

Eric is an incredibly inspiring and knowledgable musician, and an equally good person. He has taught me a lot about modal theory, blues, jazz, and even some fundamentals on various instruments. Rudiments on drums, harmonies on vocals. He has helped me learn to sing many different songs that I enjoy, and he has helped me write music as well. He's quite versatile, and I enjoy how he caters to what I'm interested in l learning.

There is no set in stone price, however I will have a suggested price of $50 per lesson and I will be willing to negotiate the primary asessment appointment (first lesson).
