About Nicholas

I have a passion for music and the guitar that runs very deep. I began playing at age 6, after hearing The Beatles for the first time and have never looked back. I have expansive knowledge in many styles of music including Blues, Rock, Country, and Jazz. I want to help students figure out where they're headed on the instrument and the best way to get there! There are no shortcuts in advancing on the guitar. Make no mistake, it takes time and a LOT of work. It's not something that happens overnight.

I have taught lessons on and off for about 7 years now, some of my students have turned into my personal friends of mine.

I completed the Guitar Performance AA program from the coveted Musician's Institute in Los Angeles, CA in 2015 and received the Outstanding Player Award. I have been in several bands and played many live performances. I can also talk about recommendations for instruments and gear. I've also been recognized as one of this website Top 10 rated Best Teachers!

I began teaching by helping my fellow classmates in college. I offered them advice on tone, technique, practicing, and theory. I've been teaching on and off for about the last several years.

I graduated at the top of my class from the guitar program at Musician's Institute in Los Angeles, CA in 2015. I was the recipient of the Outstanding Player Award for my display of knowledge and technique on the instrument while attending.

About the lesson

First thing is seeing where they are at on the instrument currently, then finding out where they want to go with it. Whether that be technique-wise or stylistically or learning more advanced vocabulary, we can figure that out.

I mostly prefer to work with students who already have a pretty decent idea of what they are doing on the instrument and are looking to incorporate more intermediate or advanced techniques and theoretical ideas.

Be ready to put some work in and have a general idea of what you want to work on. The more specific the better, as that helps me develop a lesson plan.

I love the outdoors and the ocean. I am also an avid fisherman and hunter and just took a wonderful trip out to the Washington Coast with my significant other and her two sons. We had an extraordinary time.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Where do you want to go on the instrument? What do you want to be able to play? Who influences you? What tone are you hoping to achieve?
