About John
I write out all the lessons personally based on the areas that each player needs to improve upon. The main points that wind players need to focus on are tone production, articulation, phrasing and musicality.
I enjoy performing, recording, teaching and technical work because I am selective about all of these things.
I do not want to play material I don't like, work with students who don't practice or work on instruments that are broken or bent out of shape. When you turn down impossible projects you get better jobs and more serious students.

Whether the student is an adult or a child the main factor is how much practice they are going to put into their instrument. I try to establish routines and guidelines in the first lesson. If people follow directions, show up for lessons and practice they will get results. If see that that is not the case then I will recommend another service.
