About Brian

My aim is to give the student a path of clear cut and attainable small goals, which will yield steady improvement and establish a solid baseline of solid technique and general music knowlege.

I look to keep the lessons affordable for two reasons: To establish a clientele as I continue to develop a curriculum and work on the technological side of pdfs and play along practice video sessions. The second is because I want to unapologetically ask for a focus on fundamentals and sight reading and predetermined lesson plans which may be less entertaining than learning songs or riffs, but will enable the student to eventually learn how to effectively play whatever they may be interested in over time. That is, I want students who can commit to following the specific lesson plans I lay out, however tedious or technical they may seem. I've burnt out on trying to just teach songs or tricks, and am excited about the idea of keeping people on a focused track that will pretty much guarantee improvement if followed. I have a BA in Music from Elmhurst College and over two decades of experience working with students of all ages.

I enjoy seeing the results of hard work and helping someone to deepen their appreciation of and ability to interact with music.

I have been a teaching and gigging guitar player for over two decades. I received a BA in Music degree from Elmhurst College and am always looking for new ideas or ways to become more diversely skilled as a player and a teacher.

About the lesson

I like to determine what there skill level is (if not a beginner) and I try to figure out small and practical ways to enhance their knowledge of music and work on ways to become one step more technically proficient than they were previously.

Details

I am getting started with the online lesson thing so I want to keep prices low as I learn how it works. For now I would like the price to be $12 for lessons that will be somewhere around 20 - 25 minutes.
