About Noah

Hello! My name is Noah and I am a guitarist studying film and television production at Loyola Marymount Univeristy. Playing guitar is my biggest passion and I love sharing that passion with others. Some of my biggest influences are Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmore and John Mayer. I have been studying with Tomo Fujita of the Berklee College of Music and I will teach you everything that you need to improve your songwriting and playing/improvising. I have an extra guitar and amp for my students if you don't already have one!

Playing guitar is the most rewarding choice I have made in my short 20 years of life. Nothing brings me more joy than sitting down with my guitar Suzanne and talking with her through music. Music is tension and release, and playing guitar is the greatest way to experience that tension and release. It is empowering and exciting to learn new things!

I started discoving ideas and concepts that weren't being taught to me that I wanted to share. Guitar lessons are too complicated online and I have started to compile a curriculum of knowledge that I have learned from experience and my own teacher.

I study with Tomo Fujita, a master guitar teacher at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. We focus on the importance of triads, which is a chord made up of 3 notes. I will share the wisdom that Tomo has given me, prioritizing the use and understanding of triads.

About the lesson

In our first lesson, I will explain the components of an electric guitar and the way that electric guitars produce sound. I think it is crucial to understand what makes guitars sing! My main guitar is Suzanne, a Fender Stratocaster, and I know her very well. Next, we will talk about posture, hand positioning and how to hold a guitar pick. I will also introduce basic music theory concepts and how to start practicing efficiently.

I have worked with students one year younger than me and students my age at Loyola Marymount Univeristy. Some of these students had experience while other didn't. Even if you have no experience, I will help you learn!

Find a teacher that helps you learn the best! My goal is to make YOU better. If you want to learn something, don't be afraid to ask. Also, be patient!

I was thrilled to see a concert in the UK with social distancing taking place. I miss concerts more than anything and I can't wait for live music to come back.
