About Nicholas

Participating in the world of music is a substantially challenging and rewarding experience. As a music teacher of 6 years, I have helped students cultivate confidence and self discipline through positive reinforcement in a safe and fun environment. My lessons consist of a healthy balance of structured practice and creative exploration, music theory and ear training, friendship and mentorship.

I understand that music fits in peoples' lives in different ways and a one-size-fits-all approach is not adequate. I work with my students to establish realistic goals according to their age, time availability, and interests. Student feedback is always taken to heart and used to foster an optimal learning environment. Whatever your level of interest/experience is, I am here to help!

I teach acoustic and electric guitar in any style.

Lessons are conducted in a professional recording studio with high fidelity equipment. The studio is located around 3900 South and State Street.

About me:

-26 years old

-12 years of music experience

-6 years of music teaching experience

-Have played in multiple bands (oh!no?ok. , SLEEPEATR)

-I have taught individual lessons and band programs

-Favorite artists: Led Zeppelin, Vulfpeck, Delta Sleep, Thundercat, Frank Ocean, Jimi Hendrix, Mastodon, Queens of the Stoneage, Ichika Nito.

The most rewarding aspect of teaching music is developing friendships with my students and watching them achieve their goals, build confidence, and have fun in the process. I feel invested in the success of each one of my students and am rewarded when they grow as musicians and people.

I took lessons at a music studio and was eventually offered a teaching position. I initially accepted because it was flexible with my school schedule, but I grew to love teaching and continued for many years after graduating school.

I have taught private lessons at a professional lesson studio (London Studios) for 6 years.

For 3 of those years, I also taught youth band programs (rock, country, pop).

About the lesson

We start by discussing goals, time commitments, experience level, and favorite artists/songs. This helps me tailor your music education to fit your needs. I try to get working on songs and exercises as soon as possible so the student is engaged right from the start.

I have worked with ages 6 to 60, fast and slow learners, self motivated and parent motivated students, song writers and cover artists.

I recommend that you find someone that balances encouragement, responsibility, and fun according to your preferences. Someone who will push you to achieve your goals in a positive manner.

Details

My lessons are $50/hr.

I offer half-hour, 45 minute, and hour lessons.

I prefer payment via cash or venmo, but will make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

I take lesson payment weekly.
