I found Mike McCoy to be an excellent guitar teacher. He has a broad understanding of the rythms and feelings of many different kinds of popular music and he helps you learn them in a friendly and supportive way. He does not really teach classical guitar or reading music written down but he understands chord progressions and the basics of music theory. I highly recommend him.

Mike was easy going and offered a comfortable atmosphere with a non-intimidating approach to learning the guitar. His teaching style was easy to understand and by my second lesson I was able to play my first song while gaining a better understanding of chord progression. Mike has given me the tools and confidence I needed to become a better musician, I would definitely recommend taking lessons from him.
