About Angel
I have been teaching music and guitar since I was a teenager. I was a music teacher in the third largest school district in the country (Miami-Dade County Public Schools) for over 30 years until my retirement earlier this year. I am also very fluent in music technology including audio and video recording. I helped found a performing arts music magnet school (MAS Academy) and a STEAM school (Leewood K-8 Center).
My passion for music education has lead me to pioneer many new types of programs. I founded a very successful Children's musical theatre school named Angel Voices in which we came in 2nd place in a National competition in Los Vegas. Along with my drama teacher partner we pioneered the opening of Miami-Dade Counties first Magnet Middle- High School (MAS Academy). Through the use of music technology I orchestrated a completely virtual production of the movie "Sing" which lead to the recognition of my school (Leewood K-8 Center) in becoming a STEAM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Arts/Math) school! My guitar students have won various awards at regional competitions as well.
