About Michael
I've played guitar for lots of reasons since o started including relaxation, expression, a way to de-stress and for others enjoyment but the real fun comes with growing your skills every day and opening new doors to enjoy what you do. I have been teaching people informally since 2013 and have always loved to pass on the joy of music as it was passed to me. In my classes, you'll be able to find your own style by learning chords, scales, lead guitar techniques and a few pieces of music theory that will help you build a foundation for the future. I believe strongly in maintaining your personal style and not being held down by genres or trying to sound like certain bands or individuals. Everyone has a unique sound that can come only from them. I look forward to giving you the tools to discover your own sound!
In high school people started to ask me if I could teach them and people just kept asking so I kept teaching!

The first lesson looks like this. Honestly, after just one to four lessons you'll have a lot to go off of but practice between classes is where the progress happens. The main thing is to have fun with your instrument!

The two main types of students I've taught are totally new to playing guitar (or instruments/music in general) OR are very experienced guitarists who up until that point only played chords and wanted to up their game by learning some lead guitar and scales.
Find someone who wants to bring out your style instead of give you theirs or someone else's. Whether you want to learn so you can be on top of the music world or so you can play for fun/relaxation you will have much better results if you pursue your music instead of someone else's.

Pricing is flexible. Although I take your lessons seriously, this is not my main source of income and overall I just enjoy playing guitar and being able to teach people.
