About Christopher
My approach is not only to help students become more knowledgeable and proficient but to become confident players and writers as well.
My favorite part of teaching guitar is helping students learn how to play a certain song they like and possibilities for musical expression and creation.
Started teaching when I was in high school to classmates.
Private lessons, college & university courses including music theory, performance, and production.
The most valuable education is the 40 years + of playing and performing experiences.

I always start with where the student is at to assess what they already know, don't know, want to know, etc... and go from there.
Mostly beginner and intermediate. Some advanced.
Do your research. Find or request audio recordings or videos of the teacher performing or teaching a lesson. But keep in mind that a good performer may not necessarily be a good teacher.
Recently held a group class where students took turns playing and performing songs and techniques they have learned.

He is a great teacher, he explains things well. He is very patient and dedicated.
Chris is very patient with our son and takes into consideration that each student has unique musical tastes. He has introduced various types of music genre to elevate his learning and broaden his experience. Chris share progress with us and is always available if we have any questions. He’s a terrific teacher. We highly recommend him! You can tell that music has played an important part of Chris’s life. Chris follows up on skills and sends out assignments by email. We went through the Covid lockdown with Chris and the transition from in person lessons to remote learning went very well.
