I have played guitar for over four decades. I am entirely self-taught. I have appeared with New Hope area bands in various roles as keyboard player, drummer, and particularly singer/songwriter. I accept advanced students for study in songwriting construction and singing.

A new student needs to learn about her or his instrument. I encourage new students to play acoustic guitar, if possible. Chords, finger strength and position, picking with plectrum and fingers, effective strumming, string manipulation, tuning one's instrument are all covered. Eventually, having input into music selection holds interest.
