Ralph is an amazing guitarist first of all. But that doesn't make you a good teacher. What Ralph did for me was increase my skills at scales and voicings and he did it in an encouraging way. He didn't talk down to me or get frustrated either. He guided me from my skill level and ramped me up at my pace, knowing when to push -understanding the learning process. I have an education background, so I know what he was doing was setting up scaffolding for me to work from. I improved dramatically during my time with him - scales were "at my finger tips" and I could really knock out some great solos. It was a tailored experience geared to taking me where I envisioned I wanted to go. I went way beyond that. Ralph has a black belt in musical instruction.

Not only is Raulph a great musician, but he is also a great teacher. That combination is hard to find. He is able to adjust to the level and pace of anyone learning. He is dynamic in that he adjusts lessons to the person.

Ralph is extremely knowledgeable and skilled- but he does not make beginners feel "dumb". He is always respectful of my skill level (I'm a singer and pianist so I'm a musician but pretty new to guitar). He is polite and relaxed and I feel comfortable with him.
