Hello!!!

I'm a professional teacher/multi-instrumentalist musician living near Los Angeles, California.

I teach beginning to advanced guitar, beginning to late intermediate piano/bass/ukulele, and beginning to late intermediate mandolin.

I've been playing guitar for over 25 years, piano for 20 years, and ukulele/bass/mandolin for 10 years.

I have a music degree from California State Fullerton University, Fullerton, CA.

I'm endorsed by the Gretsch Guitar Company, and I have played with/opened shows for many famous artists- with legendary music icons such as the one and only Prince, Chuck Berry, Joe Strummer of The Clash, Reverend Horton Heat, and Dwight Yoakum.

I specialize in blues guitar.

I also specialize in pop piano, with some jazz/blues & classical mixed in.

For all other instruments I am very well versed in blues, rock, pop, alternative, rockabilly, folk, a bit of jazz/country/bluegrass.

Whatever you want to learn, I can make it happen for you!!

I am a very patient teacher, and know how to get you playing your favorite songs quickly & easily! My lessons are customized to you- so if you'd like to get better at soloing/improvising, learn music theory, how to read music, or just play that favorite song or instrument you've always wanted to, I can get you there quick.

For beginning students I can help get your familiar with your instrument, learn basic chords/music theory, beginning scales, reading music (if that's your preference), how to efficiently practice to produce results, tricks to get you playing quicker, & learning your favorite songs by the 2nd lesson!

For intermediate students I go over more sophisticated chord shapes, more in-depth music theory, playing arpeggios & learning to improvise, chord inversions (don't worry if you don't know what that is, I'll explain!), learning more complex songs of your choosing.

For my advanced students I help you with voice leading, better chord shapes, improving your soloing/improvisation skills/phrasing, more complicated scales & songs of your choosing.

I do Skype lessons over the internet. I give 30 minute, 45 minute & 1 hour lessons.

I had a lot of friends who kept asking me for lessons after seeing me play live, and it snowballed into a great teaching career from there!

I have a music degree from California State University, Fullerton, and have been teaching professionally for 19 years. I have extensive experience teaching very young children all the way up to senior citizens. I ve taught just about everyone you can think of, and know what each type of student needs to reach their learning goals. I have also been performing as a live musician for about 25 years.

About the lesson

First we find out exactly what the student wants to learn and what their goals are. Do they want to work on improving their scale knowledge and apply it to soloing, or are just looking to learn their favorite songs to play? I then assess their skill level and we go from there! It's very important to me that the student is getting EXACTLY what they want from their music lessons with me!

Young children as young as 6, teenagers, young adults, older learners, senior citizens... I've pretty much taught everyone, and extensively!

Make sure they have a lot of patience and can teach you what you want to learn. Don't let anyone waste your time. Not everyone who can play music is necessarily good at teaching it. That goes for anything in life.

Being interviewed in Guitar Girl Magazine and featured on the Gretsch Guitar website, playing piano at good friends wedding in front of 100 people, playing onstage to a sold out crowd at The Observatory Concert Hall in Santa Ana, California.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you think you'll have just enough time to keep going & get some practice time in? It's not a huge impedence if you can't practice all the time, the lessons will cover that. You need to have faith in yourself and perseverance to be able to hang in a bit if you're looking to see some substantial results. If you can do that, you'll get where you want to go.

For a 30 minute lesson the rate is $28, for a 45 minute lesson the rate is $43, and a 1 hour lesson is $53.
