About Michael

I started after a friend of mine simply wished to start learning, which eventually grew into me providing lessons to many in my local environment.

- Nearly 10 years experience playing guitar

- Over a year of experience teaching

- Currently minoring in acoustic engineering at Colorado School of Mines

About the lesson

The typical process I have when working with a new student is first allowing them to explain to me the past experience they've had with playing guitar. Usually, if they plan to have an extensive time with lessons, I don't even plan to play until we have that foundation established. I love to be on the personal level with my students, and plan to make relationships with them that will undoubtedly help with their music comprehension.

Usually below the age of 18, however, I am completely up for teaching anyone, regardless of age or other backgrounds.

Look for someone who can not only teach you guitar, but can give you insight into the world of music that can't be found anywhere outside of performance, and sharing the gift of music with others. Find an instructor who is able to get down on your level without boasting about the accomplishments they have, and instead just love sharing the gift of music with others. Learning how to play the guitar is important and a great skill to have. However, sharing that skill with others is what makes that gift, in a sense, magical.

My senior class Baccalaureate service. I was able to play in a venue that I could have only dreamt of performing in beforehand (Central Christian Church in Las Vegas). It was simply a moving experience to perform in front of my classmates and share the gift of music and the word of God all in one night.

"How can I apply music to other aspects of my life?"
