About Geoff

I try to help students get to a point where they are enjoying making music as quickly as possible! Whether it's learning new songs on their own, or struggling through complex harmonic structures, my goal is to help students learn how to learn. After all, a lesson is only a few minutes per week!

Started teaching some kids at my church when I was in college!

I have a minor in music and over 20 years of performing and teaching guitar.

About the lesson

First lesson evaluates where a student is currently and what their goals are. From there each lesson is custom to the students needs and goals.

Mostly these days I teach college age and adults, although i've taught a few kids in the past as well.

Find someone that works for you. Not all teachers are good fits for all students. I've had 5-10 guitar teachers over the years, all excellent musicians and guitarists. But not all of them were excellent teachers. At least for me any my sytle of learning.

Had a CD release show for my band, merlot embargo, that was a blast!

What are your goals? Do you want to learn how to accompany yourself singing? Do you want to read music? Play jazz? Rock? Knowing where you want to go will help us find a path to get there

Details

Yes. We can do weekly or bi-weekly, half-hour or hour lessons depending on the student. I charge $50 for an hour lesson and $30 for half an hour.
