About Martin

I have been playing guitar for about 20 years. In 2010 I graduated from the FSU school of music with the guitar as my primary instrument. I am most experienced in Folk, Country, and Blues. I also have studied Classical Guitar and can teach the fundamentals of each of these areas and also bring the student to the next level of performance. I am also a songwriter and will incorporate that process into my teaching if it is something that the student would like to learn as well.

I also feel a need to let the student engage in self-learning and direction as this is should be the ultimate goal as a musician. It is my goal as a teacher to bring each student to the level that they can progress in the way that is best for them on their own. The time this can take will vary for each student.

I enjoy bringing the student into a new artistic arena. It is very fulfilling to see someone make great strides in a new art form. It can provide them with a great deal of joy. This especially true of the new student and it is a very mutually rewarding process for both the student and the teacher.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons offered by Martin are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Dawsonville. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
