About Emily
My piano and guitar lessons will provide you with information that a lot of teachers do not share with their students. One example, how do you know which chord you should play with a particular note?
I have a great passion for music. I love sharing that passion and providing my music knowledge with people. I love seeing my students successfully play the music I've taught them. Teaching is one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done.

Because I teach beginning students who have no musical experience, I sit down with each new student to let them know what they can expect to learn while studying with me. This includes but is not limited to music theory, how to both sight read and play by ear. And, if the student has an interest, I will teach them performance and recording techniques.
During this initial consultation, I find out what type of music excites them. Although, I will focus primarily on teaching them the music they love, I will also teach them how to play all types of music - including classical, flamenco, etc.

Emily is a great teacher. This is my son's first time playing guitar and he has gotten really good. She teaches him music theory and how to play by ear and read guitar tab. And, he gets to play all kinds of songs including classical.
My fabulous teacher since I take my kid to her for piano lessons. Wow it's been eight years and now my wife are taking guitar lessons with with her. I definitely recommend. Emily rocks!
I started playing piano with Emily about 5 years ago. My whole life I wanted to learn piano so when I retired I took lessons with her. She make everything easy to understand. I learned how to sight read and play by ear. Now, I'm learning to play guitar. When I learn a new song, we play it together, me on guitar and her on piano. It is so much fun. She's teaching me to solo on guitar! Wonderful teacher!
