About Ray

You get more than a guitar teacher; you get a music mentor who is deeply invested in every student’s success; both as a musicians and human being. I make myself available between lessons to provide students more time and resources to help ensure their success. Lessons also include a pre- and post-lesson email checking in on progress and to send lesson overviews.

I enjoy on getting to know each student and who they are as a person, their individual goals, abilities, and lifestyles. Then I tailor the best and most effective lesson experience for them. My greatest joy is to see a student's success and growth as a musician.

I was hired after college to work with grade school students in one-on-one and group lessons. I loved it and haven't stopped.

About the lesson

First I want to know what truly inspires the student to take guitar lessons. Every student is different so, it's really important to create a curriculum that's tailored to their goals, natural abilities/talent, and lifestyles. By showing the best path forward from the very start, together we can build greater self-confidence, motivation, and results to acheive success.

From pre-schoolers, K-12, special education, college-level, adults, and retirees of every demographic and background.

Ask yourself "what would my absolute ideal guitar teacher be like? Then find that teacher. One who really understands who you are and the best methods that fit you personally.

Find a teacher who can teach all styles, levels, and knows how to focus on every student as if they were the only one being taught.

Besides the fact that Ray is a wonderful instructor, the fact that was most important to me was that he was patient. His calm and patience made me feel comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to get some more lessons soon!

Lessons also include a pre- and post-lesson email checking in on progress and to send lesson overviews. Rates are $80 an hour for in-person lesson and $70 for virtual sessions. Scholarships with reduced available for students experiencing financial hardship (sponsored by the Brooklyn Arts Council).
