About John
I have been teaching guitar lessons, both electric and acoustic, for two years in my home town. I play regularly in Boston with a number of groups in many different styles on both bass and guitar. I am attending Berklee College of Music and have a real passion for studying music in a very academic way, but my musical upbringing was very unstructured and free form so I am comfortable and enjoy working with students with all sorts of backgrounds.
I substituted at my local School of Rock a couple times and then started teaching students on my own
I have two years of lesson expiriance and am currenty going to Berklee

First I like to see what their musical intrests are so I can best determine what songs, techniques and knowledge would most benifit them as a musician. Second I try to determine how much information and what kind of information a student is best able to absorb and will intrest them so that i don't overwhelm or underwhelm them with information.

try and figure out what you want to gain from a lesson and share that with your teacher. They will be able to to tell you the steps to your goal and help you through them.

$30 for a half hour, but usually I will let my lessons run a bit longer if I have the time and the student is still interested
