About Zack
My lessons are extra special because I help students understand the whole universe of music, through the guitar, and I make it clear and fun.
All students already know everything about music. They know wrong notes and wrong rhythms when they hear them. Therefore, students actually know much more than they realize. As a teacher I help them understand what they know.
My approach mixes it up between playing, improvising, composing, song-writing, ear training, theory, copying, recording, singing, drumming, keyboarding, videotaping, notation, reading, chords, bass lines, performance skills, lyrics organizing, getting gigs !!
I earned my BA and MA in music. I taught public school music for 18 years. I have been a freelance musician for 25 years.

Zack identifies the long term musical goals for his students and gets right into it, explaining musical theory and teaching strategies for long term success. He also integrates technology into his lessons, which allows for instant feedback on strengths and areas for continued work.
Zack is the best! I decided to take up the guitar in my 60's and Zack's musical and teaching talents are equalled by his patience and good humor. His approach is perfect for adult students--he understood and addressed what I wanted to do while still demanding I learn basic techniques. He is still working with me and I value our time together. His studio is comfortable and well equipped. Don't know what else to say except that Zack imbues each lesson with a special "zing."
Zack is Da' Bomb! He is enthusiastic, incredibly talented, and has lots of patience with those that want to learn. I highly recommend him for giving lessons to anyone from 4 to 104. You can't go wrong.
