About James

I teach private golf lessons focused on scoring. I only work with a few students every year and focus on helping them reach their goals.

Although I focus on the short game I can help with the full swing as well. You dont need a lot of lessons. A few sessions with the proper practice works wonders. Please contact me for more information.

I enjoy helping others get better at this great game.

After I learned the game sufficiently I started helping friends out. After they saw significant improvement they suggested I help others.

Golfer for over 30 years. 5.8 handicap. Teacher for over 10 years.

About the lesson

I review their swing and talk to them about their goals. See what other training they have had and discuss how I can help. After the first session they can decide on how to proceed. There are no obligations, they decide what they want to learn and how much. If they like me and what I teach I will work with them to reach their goals. If I can't help them I know others who can and will suggest alternatives.

Students from 30's through 70's. Mostly people who have played for several years already.

It is good to learn their philosophy and how they teach. Having 20+ years of experience is nice but does not mean a lot.

I helped a good friend a few years ago go from shooting in the low 100's to almost breaking 90. Now he breaks 100 most times out, despite not practicing hardly at all. It was exciting to see him enjoy the game so much more now.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Great question. They need to have some realistic expectations and be honest about their game. Ask about the process and what to expect. What do they teach and how. Do they have materials to read/watch to learn more, outside of class, about the particular method(s) they teach. Do they use modern training aids such as video and launch monitors and why or why not.

Chris

James literally transformed my short game in about 3-4 lessons. He not only showed me what I was doing wrong but he also gave me great things to work on by myself. I practice better now and I play better. I had a great experience working with James.

Prices are $30 per session plus optional tip. This way I'm not wasting my time and if they don't like me/the lesson they dont waste a lot of money and are not paying for multiple lessons.
