About Sabine

I pride myself in getting to know my students. As a team, we identify, target and meet the student's needs and requirements.

I have discovered teaching later in life and found that it was my passion all along. Could not ask for a better job to include all of my education, interests and experiences.

Started as a young woman in Special Education, my original passion. Came to the U.S. with my military spouse and traveled the world as a military family. Have taught and tutored whenever possible throughout this time. Settled in Northern Virginia to start teaching fulltime.

Was a German language and culture instructor at the State Department's Foreign Service Institute (School of Language Studies). Have been working virtually during the Covid-19 transition and afterwards.

About the lesson

I strive to assess the student's (perceived) needs and to design a curriculum targeting needs and goals.

U.S. officials (both military and civilian), college and graduate students, teenagers, foreign exchange students, recent immigrants, special needs. Volunteered as "room mom" in elementary school classes for years.

I was lucky enough to represent my language school and the FSI at the 2019 ACTFL conference in Washington, DC. Exciting and huge event for language instructors around the country and the world.
