About Trina
Nationally certified speech therapist who also studied linguistics. I have been abroad and know what it is like to learn another language and know how it feels to sound like a foreigner! My experience in providing speech/language therapy, learning foreign languages, and having accent reduction clients gives me the foundational knowledge needed to teach English and help others reduce their accent-- it's not all about the sounds!

Using this knowledge, I pinpoint which aspects of the English language (not just sounds, but also nonverbal cues as well) are most affecting my client's ability to effectively and efficiently communicate so that he/she can be understood better by native speakers of English.

In 2018, I had several accent reduction sessions with Katrina and enjoyed each one of them. I liked her analytical approach to identifying the pronunciation issues and her practical instructions to resolve them. Katrina's calm, friendly and engaging personality made my interactions with her productive and fun. I wish, I had more sessions with Katrina.
