About Diane

I am a 15 year award-winning dialect and accent reduction coach. I have coached dialects in many countries (with the likes of Juilliad directors and film stars) and I've never met a dialect I can't coach. I have been doing accent reduction for five years and have worked with people all over the world who want to improve their accents in terms of American English. I can help you meet your goals! About the lesson

For accent students, I have them record the Rainbow Passage for me. I analyze the passage in their language vs. American English and create a custom plan. I send them the plan the first lesson. Then in the first lesson we set individual goals that define the content of our sessions. I have VERY satisfied clients! My goal is for you to SOUND more American!

In terms of dialect, I send the individual who wants to learn an accent or dialect some information and multi-media on pronunciation. If they are auditioning for or they are in a play I offer to also record lines for them. I set up a time to meet online and we go into depth in how to make the appropriate sounds and the prosody (rhythm and stress) of the accent. I am proud to say I'm one of the best coaches in the country.

I would be clear about your goals. Is your teacher telling you they can completely eradicate your accent in six lessons? It's impossible. You spent a LIFETIME developing it. It takes work but we can reduce it in weeks time and we can get close to sounding American if the commitment is there.

I had a student of accent reduction want to know more about American idioms. I was explaining baseball idioms - lots of the here - and I had to explain the whole game! Another student is obsessed with mastering reciting Dr. Seuss....

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Goals - what do you want out of the sessions? Reducing just your accent? Building vocabulary? Improving job performance? The more specific you can be, the better.
